Gary "Red" Joseph Sonnier

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2020 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Gary Joseph “Red” Sonnier, 63, who died Friday, June 26, 2020 at his residence.  He will be laid to rest at Cossinade Cemetery with Chaplain Paul Broussard officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Bryce Hardy, Corey Vice, Ross Stoute, Dalton Stoute, Jr., Dylan Cormier, and Gabrielle LeMaire.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremie Williams, Michael Touchet, and Jacob Harrington, Jr.

Gary loved to hunt and fish, but mostly loved talking on his CB radio.

He is survived by his wife, Mona Nichols Sonnier of Abbeville; his daughter, Angelique Sonnier Williams and her husband, Jeremie of Gueydan; his stepdaughter, Shalayna Stoute Cormier and her husband, Josh of Morse; his two stepsons, Ross Stoute and his wife, Starlyn of New Orleans and Dalton Stoute, Jr. and his wife, Melissa of Morse; lots of grandchildren; his brother, Darin "Boo" Sonnier and his wife, Jennifer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lenwood Sonnier and the former Rosa Menard; his brother, Steve Sonnier; his stepson, Kriss Von Stoute, Sr.; and his stepdaughter, Natasha Foster.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Sunday, June 28, 2020 from 10:00 AM until the time of the services at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2020 with a rosary being prayed at 5:00 PM on Sunday, June 28, 2020.
