Gloria Fay Dartez Bergeron

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Gloria Fay Dartez Bergeron, age 79, who died Friday, December 16, 2022, at her residence surrounded by family.  She will be laid to rest at St Paul Cemetery with Reverend Louis J. Richard officiating the services.  Pallbearers will be Neal Bergeron, Jonathon Rost, Jordan Rost, Jeb Bergeron, TJ Thompson and Mitch Owens. Honorary pallbearer will be Ross Trahan.

Gloria loved gardening and watching her hummingbirds. She also enjoyed listening to music. Gloria was a very hard worker; whether it was caring for elderly or babysitting her grandkids, she was always willing to help. Gloria worked at Meaux Elementary as a custodian and took great pride in her work. She loved spending time with family and friends, but her greatest pride and joy were her grandkids and great grandkids. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of sixty years, Norman Lee Bergeron; son, Neal Bergeron (Stacy); daughters, Angela Richeaux (David), Lorna Rost, and Savannah Leigh Bergeron; grandchildren, Maghon Thomas, Jonathon Rost, Jordan Rost, Jeb Bergeron, Lexy Bergeron and Harley Richeaux; great grandchildren, Scarlett Rost, Kale Bergeron and Remy Thompson; sister, Linda Gayle Owens (Wilfred); godchildren, Madge Koch Sellers and Kelli Dubois Rodrique; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Treville Joseph Dartez and Louise Touchet Dartez; son, Craig “Toopie” Bergeron; sister, Mary Geraldine Broussard; brothers-in-law, Eugene Broussard and Burnell Koch; and nephew, Chad Trahan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Monday, December 19, 2022, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM; Tuesday, December 20, 2022, from 8:00 AM until time of service at 10:00 AM.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana and their staff, Seth Porche and Sheena Dominque for the outstanding care they provided and also her niece, Phyllis Dehart.
