Hildrie "Shug" Stelly, Sr.

Cow Island—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Hildrie “Shug” Stelly, Sr., 92, who died Friday, February 14, 2020 at his residence.  He will be laid to rest at Suire Cemetery with Reverend Matthew Barzare officiating the services.

He is survived by three sons, Ravis Stelly and his wife, Penny of Cow Island, Sandrus "Moutte" Stelly, Sr. and his wife, Delores of Forked Island, and Hildrie Stelly, Jr. and his wife, Charlotte of Forked Island; four daughters, Brenda Guidry of Forked Island, Betty and her husband, Stanley Cormier of Forked Island, Sarah and her husband, Ronald Guidry of Shelbyville, TX, and Faye Stelly of Forked Island; two daughters-in-law, Tina Stelly of Maurice and Jeanette Stelly of Forked Island; three brothers, Raymond Stelly of Kaplan, Ivy Stelly of Forked Island, and Donald Stelly of Forked Island; 19 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and 18 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Mae Richard Stelly; three sons, Warren, Norman, and Aladin Stelly; one son-in-law, Robert Guidry; one daughter-in-law, Danielle Uriegas Stelly; one grandson, Kenneth Guidry; two great grandchildren, Kennedy Stelly and Colt Stelly; and his parents, Adlar Stelly and the former Edia Rung.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Monday, February 17, 2020 from 2:00 PM until the services at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. A rosary will be prayed on Monday, February 17, 2020 at 7:00 PM.
