Huey P. Stutes

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan honoring the life of Huey Paul Stutes, 85, who died Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home.  He will be laid to rest at Istre Cemetery with Reverend Corey Campeaux officiating the services.

Huey served our Nation honorably in the United States Army. He worked in the propane industry in sales and service for 50 years, 40 years for Commercial Oil Company and another 10 years with Suburban Propane.

In his spare time, Huey enjoyed raising chickens, gardening, cooking, dancing, and visiting residents in various nursing homes.

He is survived by his sister, Dolores S. Lepretre of Gueydan; and numerous nieces and nephews who all affectionately called him KeBob or Keb.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Stutes and the former Ory Kobleur; one brother, Weber Henry Stutes; and two sisters, Dorothy Vincent and Norma Guidry.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth St., on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 8:00 AM until the time of the services at 10:00 AM.
