Irene Guidry Broussard

Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Irene Guidry Broussard, 96, who died Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at her residence.  She will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery with Reverend Keith Pellerin officiating the services.

She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Platt of Lafayette, Charlene "Boo" Harrison and her husband, Gene of Breaux Bridge and Jenny Thibodeaux and her husband, Craig of DeQuincy; her six grandchildren, Dawn Weekly, Stephanie Jones (Lavin), Devin Harrison (Mendy), Kim Dooley (Dave), April Phillips (Doug) and Jessica Alexander; her 16 great grandchildren; her one great-great grandchild; her sister, Hilda Perrin of Kaplan; and her special niece, Mayola Domingue.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elson J. Broussard; one grandson, Jamie Platt; her sister, Mabel Mouton; her brothers, Dennis Guidry, Milton Guidry, Lyness Guidry, Lurnis Guidry, Eugene Guidry and Alvin Guidry; and her parents, Althee Guidry and the former Azelie Richard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 600 N. Church Avenue, on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM.
