Jean Marie Thibeaux Bertrand

Erath—Memorial Services will be held at a later date honoring the life of Jean Thibeaux Bertrand, age 59, who passed away at New Iberia Manor North on Monday, August 23, 2023.

Jean Thibeaux Bertrand was born on June 26, 1964, in Lafayette, La. She was a longtime resident of Erath. She enjoyed talking on the phone, playing cards, going to the casino, listening, and dancing to the music. Jean was a dedicated housewife who enjoyed cooking for her family. She was passionate about her 3 little dogs. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, she couldn’t wait to play Secret Santa to see the different gifts.

Jean is survived by her husband of 28 years, Jesse P. Bertrand; two sons, Mike Bertrand and his wife, Wendy of Delcambre, and Travis Bertrand and his spouse, Joey of Erath; one daughter, Jessica Prieto of Navarre, Florida; one brother, Nolan Thibeaux, Jr. and his wife, Ruby of Kaplan; three sisters, Judy Litwiler, of Kaplan, Sandra Whalen of Kaplan, and Rachelle Gallet and her husband, Blake of Lafayette; brother-in-law, Charles Bertrand of Erath; seven grandchildren; eleven nieces and nephews; and eleven great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nolan E. Thibeaux Sr., and former Juliette Ann Leger; brothers, Ronnie Thibeaux and Mitchell David Thibeaux; brother-in-law, B Larry Litwiler Sr.; and nephew, Larry Litwiler Jr.
