Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August  8, 2019 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Jeanette L. Bernard, 81, who died Monday, August 5, 2019 at Lafayette General Medical Center.  She will be laid to rest at Mire Cemetery with Reverend Palthasar Arrockia Doss officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Brody Trahan, Adrienne Trahan, Chance Bernard, Chanie Bernard, Gabriel Meyers, and Gavin Bernard.

The family would like to thank Eastridge Nursing Home and Lafayette General for their compassionate care in her time of need.

She is survived by her three daughters, Elizabeth and her husband, Clifford Trahan of Cow Island, Claudette Bernard of Palestine, TX, and Debbie and her husband, Leon "Nootsie" Meyers of  Rayne; her son, Leonard Charles Bernard of California; 11 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Orta LeMaire; her husband, Maurice Bernard, Jr.; her son, Michael James Bernard; her brother, Claude LeMaire; and her sister, Ruby Guidry.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Thursday, August  8, 2019 from 8:00 AM until the time of the services at 2:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 1:00 PM.
