Jimmy Clyde "Big Jake" Lege

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan honoring the life of Jimmy Clyde "Big Jake" Lege, 87, who died Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home.  He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Corey Campeaux officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin Cormier, Aaron Cormier, Christopher Whaley, Justin Lege, Lance Pearson and David Broussard.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Laura Mae Hebert Lege; two sons, Bradley Harrington and his wife, Joy and Ryan Lege and his wife, Maxine; two daughters, Rachel Lege Miller and her husband, David and Raina Lege Whaley and her husband, Robert; seven grandchildren, Doreen Harrington Fontenot, Bennett Harrington, Dustin Cormier, Aaron Cormier, Amanda Cormier Broussard, Christopher Whaley and Justin Lege; 14 great grandchildren; and three sisters, Margie Lege McFarland, Eloise Lege Golden and Brenda Lege LeMaire.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jaracin Lege and the former Julia Ellen Humble; one sister, Betty Lege Dillon; and one great granddaughter, Alyvia Faith Cormier.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth St., on Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 9:00 AM until the services at 11:00 AM.
