John Melvin Trahan

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of John Melvin Trahan, 87, who died Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Abbeville General Hospital.  He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Myrtis Guidry Trahan of Kaplan; his son, Blaine Trahan and his wife, Holly of Abbeville; his two daughters, Kaye Broussard and her husband, Tim of Leroy and Gelaine Boutin and her husband, Joseph of Kaplan; his six grandchildren, Kristen Hargrave and her husband, John of Erath, Katrina Epperly and her husband, Brandon of Youngsville, Derek Broussard and his wife, Kim of Leroy, Jess Istre and her husband, Joseph of Kaplan, Andrew Boutin of Abbevile and Joseph Boutin, Jr. of Kaplan;  and his 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elier and Ella Trahan; and his sister, Helen Trahan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 9:00 AM until the time of the services at 1:00 PM.
