Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Joseph "Dim" Loiphe Dubois, 82, who died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at his residence.
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Rev. Gregory Cormier officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Dubois, Nathan Dubois, Richard Guillitte, Joshua Hebert, Bryant Hebert, and Matthew Landry. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bryce Landry and Kameron Hebert.
Dim is survived by his wife, Brenda Landry; two brothers, Dallas Dubois (Martha) and Jessie Broussard; sister, Verna Sonnier; mother-in-law, Zelmay Frederick; sisters-in-law, Patricia Touchet (Joe), Peggy Hebert (Kerry), and Carol Landry; and brothers, in-law, Donald Landry (Carlene), Ronald Landry (Kay), and Keith Landry (Angelica); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Odey Dubois and the former Helena Broussard; step-father, Maurice Gilbert; and brothers, Lovelace “Shine” Dubois and wife Sable, and Odeon “Blackie” Dubois and his wife Lucille; brother-in-law, Neuville Sonnier; and four nephews, Keith Sonnier, Mark Sonnier, Dwayne Dubois and Gannon Broussard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Monday, January 29, 2018 from 8:00 AM until time of services.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dim's caregivers who truly became family include: Brie Harrington (Drew Brees), and Hospice of Acadina especially Edie Morgan.
