Joseph Eraste Hebert

Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February  9, 2019 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Joseph Eraste Hebert, 61, who died Monday, February 4, 2019 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital.  He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Palthasar Arrockia Doss officiating the services.

To those who knew him, he was a comical character with great wit, talented musician, master electrician, jack-of-all trades, and volunteer firefighter. Most importantly, he was a devoted and loving family man and friend. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Simon in-laws, Whitney Brown, Greg Roberts, and Elizabeth Bodin.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jill Simon Hebert;  his son, Joseph "Jake" Jacob Hebert and his wife, Jaime of Kaplan; two daughters, Rosalyn Hebert LeFleur of Lafayette and Regan Simone Hebert of Abbeville; two sisters, Agnes Faye Hebert of Lafayette and Constance Ruth Hebert of San Miguel, Mexico; nine grandchildren, Cole Michael Touchet, Haiden Eraste Hebert, Aime Claire LaFleur, Allie Michelle LaFleur, Luke Joseph LaFleur, Logan Jon Benoit, Blake Joseph Hebert, Reece Adam Hebert, and Evie Louise Hebert; one Godchild, Greg Edward Roberts; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eraste Hebert and the former Murdie Trahan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Friday, February  8, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Saturday, February  9, 2019 from 8:00 AM until 10:45 AM when the procession departs for the church.
