Joseph "Joe" Schexnaider

Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Joseph Schexnaider, 80, who died Sunday, November 12, 2017. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Nicholas DuPre' officiating the services.

He is survived by his sister, Olita Aucoin and her husband, Ray of Kaplan; numerous nieces and nephews, Richard Marceaux, Glenn Marceaux and his wife, Jacqueline, Michael Marceaux and his wife, Duna, Denise Miller and her husband, Larry, Jo Ann Stroud and her husband, James, Donald Turner and his wife, Sandra, Cheral Turner and her boyfriend, Tommy; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Clifton LaSalle and his wife, Sable Trahan LaSalle, Noris LaSalle, Mary LaSalle Abshire and her husband, Edward Abshire, Delores LaSalle Doucet, Harry LaSalle and his wife, Barbara Bergeron, Donald LaSalle and his wife, Charlene Doucet LaSalle, Ronald LaSalle, Ray Allen LaSalle, Geneva LaSalle Bodin and her husband, Wade Bodin, Rodney LaSalle and his wife, Mildred Campbell, Barbara LaSalle Deshotel and her husband, Timothy Deshotel.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Dorothy Mae LaSalle; his parents, Edmond Schexnaider and the former Olive Vincent; his sister, Beulah Turner; his nephew, Bobby Turner; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joseph LaSalle and his wife, Lucilla Sonnier LaSalle, Annie Louise Dupont LaSalle, Annie Joyce LaSalle, Earl Dupont, Lurcy LaSalle and his wife, Lynda Ivy LaSalle, Charles Doucet, and Theresa Gary LaSalle; and parents-in-law, Gordy LaSalle and his wife, Eunice LaSalle.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Friday, November 17, 2017 from 9:00 AM until the procession departs for the church.
