Julius "Chere" Plaisance

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, September 4, 2017 at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan honoring the life of Julius "Chere" Plaisance, 93, who died Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Acadia General Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Clint Trahan officiating the services.

He is survived by his six godchildren, Fannie Broussard and her husband, Stacy Broussard of Gueydan, Rusty Doucet and his wife, Michelle of Duson, Brenda Lege of Abbeville, Karl Keith Dartez and his wife, Mona Faye of Longville, LA, Jenny Lynn and her husband, Brian Blanchard of Louisville, KY, and Susan Lacomb and her husband, Nelson Lacomb, Jr. of Gueydan; two sisters, Irene P. Simon and Viola P. Vondenstein; one brother, Ludring Plaisance; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Anna Mae Plaisance; his parents, Hypolite Plaisance and the former Ada Leger; four brothers, Sanders "Coon" Plaisance, Galton Plaisance, Joseph Plaisance, and Savay Plaisance; and one sister, Anite P. Martin.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth St., on Monday, September 4, 2017 from 9:00 AM until services with a rosary being prayed at 10:00 AM.
