Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Kenneth Lee Hargrave, 65, whose prayerful passing occurred on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice surrounded by family and friends. He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Stephan Hargrave, Blake Landry, Korey Hargrave, Jimmy Herpin, Brian Britton and Randy Trahan.
Ken was a pilot by nature and by heart. He worked 40 plus years in the oilfield, but also flew for as many years receiving his private license in 1976 and his commercial license in 1989. Ken built Kenan Aviation from the ground up. The name was a mixture of his name and that of his son and daughter. They were the reason for the many take offs and landings in his life.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Belinda G. Hargrave; his children, Stephan Lee Hargrave and Katelyn Richelle Hargrave Landry and her husband, Blake; Ken lived his life for his grandchildren, Makynlie Audrey Mire "MK", Levi James Landry and Leighton James Landry; his mother, Leona Breaux (Wilmer); his sisters, Kathy Trahan (Randy), Carla Herpin (Jimmy), Kriesha Britton (Brian); his brother, Korey Hargrave (Heather); and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Houise “Bud” Hargrave.
Loving donations may be made to Maltrait Memorial Catholic School in Ken’s memory.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 8:00 AM until the procession departs for the church at 1:45 PM with a celebration of life prayer service at 10:00 AM and a rosary being prayed at 1:00 PM.
