Kaplan—It is with great sadness that the family of Kenneth Menard, age 65, announces his passing on November 2, 2017 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. Kenneth was the youngest of 16 children born to Estella and Arthur Menard. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Billie Marceaux Menard; four children, Hilaree and husband Brady Landry, Elizabeth “Yaba” and husband Coby Bengtson, Lyndsee Menard, and Grant Menard; eight grandchildren, Taylor, Jayde, Cailyn, Chloe, Cullen, Talen, Tyson, and Zara; and three sisters, Florine Rockinbaugh, Lucille Barras, and Nola Menard.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Menard and the former Estella Dubois; godparents, Rida and Larry Hollier, Sr.; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Having worked throughout the United States and many foreign countries, Kenneth’s greatest joy was returning home to simple country life. He loved cooking gumbo, boiling crawfish for family and friends, and spending time on his tractor caring for the property he loved.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan. Visitation will be observed from 9:00 AM until services with rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at Cossinade Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services.
