Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Kenneth Schexnider, 81, who died Tuesday, June 13, 2023. He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Darrel Cormier, Kevin Cormier, Richard Cormier, Kim LaBry, Garet LaBry and Darrel Breaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamey Guidry and Barrett Guidry.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth S. Schexnider of Kaplan; his two daughters, Stephanie S. LaBry and her husband, Kim of Kaplan and Katina S. Dartez and her companion, Darrel Breaux of Kaplan; his three grandchildren, Sidney Dartez, Lanie LaBry and Garet LaBry; his sister, Fayetta Foreman; and his three brothers, Terry Schexnider, Patrick Schexnider and Anthony Schexnider.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clevenis Schexnider and the former Velma Dartez; his sisters, Loretta Cormier, Verna Schexnider and Linda Schexnider; and his brothers, Maxie Schexnider, Gerald Schexnider, Keith Schexnider and Wayne Schexnider.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 8:00 AM until the procession departs for the church at 10:45 AM.
