Laura Gandy Broussard

Pecan Island—Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Pecan Island Community Cemetery honoring the life of Laura Gandy Broussard, 88, who died Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in Denham Springs. She will be laid to rest at Pecan Island Community Cemetery with Reverend Kyle Coates officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Christian Henslee, Zack Winters, Steve Oubre, Ryan Arceneaux, Blake Speyrer, and Joe Gagliano.

Laura loved to fish, work in her garden, and was an excellent cook. She was lovingly referred to as “Lovie” by all the grandchildren. She was married to Mr. Streeter Broussard and lived in Pecan Island until she got ill and moved to her daughter’s home in Denham Springs.

She is survived by her children, Margaret Gaddis (Ken) of Denham Springs, LA, Dr. Van Christian (Karen) of Opelousas, LA, Christy Thomas (Bob) Thomaston, GA, and Mark Christian (Rita) of New Orleans; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Jack B. Gandy, Sr.; her husband, Mr. Streeter (Coonie) Broussard; her grandson, Michael Gaddis; and her brother, Jack B. Gandy, Jr.
