Laura Meaux Carret

Abbeville—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, August  9, 2021 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Laura Meaux Carret, 87, who died Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Evangeline Oaks Guest Home.  She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Fr. Glenn Meaux officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Neil and Drake Carret, Phil and Wayne Sellers, Phillip Richard, and Craig Frederick.

She is survived by her son, Neil Carret and his wife, Kasey; two grandchildren, Drake Carret and Saige Carret; one nephew, Fr. Glenn Meaux; and one niece, Ginger Meaux Mathy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Whitney Meaux and the former Eucile Mouton; one brother, Pervis "PeeWee" Meaux; and her husband, George P. Carret.

The family wishes to offer special thanks to Hospice Compassus, especially her nurse, Jenna Britt and also Mary, Amanda, Rachelle and the staff at Evangeline Oaks Guest Home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church on Monday, August  9, 2021 from 9:00 AM until the services at 12:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM.
