Laura Meaux Elzy

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Shiloh Baptist Church honoring the life of Laura Meaux Elzy, 98, who died Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Mountain View Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery with Reverend Wayne Landry officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Mitchell, Alan Mitchell, Jr., Christopher Campbell, Daylon Jules, Peter Mitchell, Jr., and Cedric Hebert. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Alcee Hebert, Jr., Loveless Mitchell, Tiger Young, Eddie Mitchell, Alan Mitchell, Sr., Walter Eaton, Peter Mitchell, Sr., William Clanton, and Willie Burnley.

She is survived by her daughter, Helen Mitchell Hebert of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren, Alcee (Linda) Hebert, Jr. of Carson CA, Shavonnda (Tiger) Young of Las Vegas, NV, and Tamela Hebert of Las Vegas, NV; eight great grandchildren, Vaughn, Kyle, Zavieh, Isis, Zahria, Zahkai, Sean, and Iman; and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Elzy; parents, Albert Meaux and the former Mary Ann Stroud; stepmother, Ada Meaux; brothers, Robert, James, and Reverend Hollis Meaux; sisters, Rose Reed, Beatrice Meaux, Fannie Campbell, and Isabell Mitchell.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Shiloh Baptist Church, 607 N. Guidry Avenue, on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 9:00 AM until the services.
