Lauris “Maw Kate” Gaspard

Kaplan —Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May  5, 2023 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Lauris “Maw Kate” Gaspard, 94, who died Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Kaplan Healthcare Center.  She will be laid to rest at Greene Cemetery with Reverend Stephen Irudayasamy officiating the services.

She is survived by her son, Elie Saltzman, Jr. of Mouton Cove; her grandson whom she raised, James Thompson and his wife, Amy of Indian Bayou; her four grandchildren, Tommy, Tangie, Sammy and Bobbie; her 13 great grandchildren; her 18 great-great granchilden; her two sisters, Ella Mae Stelly of Pecan Island and Verna Taylor of Laccasine; and her brother, George LeBouef of Abbeville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harcie "Paul" Gaspard; her son, Harold Saltzman; her daughter, Dorothy Simon; her grandson, Timothy Kerrigan; her eight sisters; three brothers; and two great grandchildren.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Thursday, May  4, 2023 from 11:00 AM until Friday, May 5, 2023 till the time of the services at 10:00 AM, with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 4, 2023.
