Laxcy James Vincent Sr.

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July  6, 2021 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Laxcy James Vincent Sr., 78, who died Friday, July 2, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.  He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Laxcy Vincent, Jr., Brady Vincent, Ruston Vincent, Cade Vincent, C.J. Vincent and Robert Thibodeaux.  Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Goodwin and Tristan Vincent. A Eulogy will be read by Laxcy Vincent, Jr. and Cade Vincent. Readers will be Tammy Vincent and Nichol Thibodeaux.

Laxcy proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 8 years, where he received many honors and accolades during his service. He received his bachelor's degree in science at U.S.L. in Lafayette.  He was a software engineer. He loved singing karaoke with his family.  He enjoyed fishing, crabbing and cast netting.  In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, softball and darts.  He was a great artist and produced many beautiful prints.  He took great pride and joy in his vegetable garden every year. Above all, he loved his family the most.

He is survived by the love of his life of 56 years, his wife, Susan Gaspard Vincent; three sons, Laxcy Vincent, Jr. and his wife, Tammy, Clinton Vincent and his wife, Holly, and Brady Vincent and his fiancée, Skyla; grandchildren, Cade Vincent, Justin Goodwin, Peyton Vincent Bailey, Jancee Rice, Shelby Vincent, C.J. Vincent, Tristan Vincent, and Atticus Vincent; and two great granddaughters, Madison Goodwin and Everly Vincent; sister, Dorothy Vincent Comeaux; and brother, Loison Vincent, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his father, Loison Joseph Vincent, Sr.; mother, Yolande Lasseinge Picard; brother, C.J. Vincent; and nephew, Brady Vincent.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Monday, July  5, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Tuesday, July  6, 2021 from 8:00 AM until time of services. Eulogy will start at 1:00 PM.
