ABBEVILLE- A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Leroy Joseph Vincent, Sr., 81, who passed away on February 6, 2025 at The Calcutta House. Pastor Chad Romero will officiate the memorial service.
A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. Saint Charles St., Abbeville, on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM to time of services.
After Leroy graduated from High School, he went to work for Garrett Marine, working his way up to Captain on the on the Tug Boat Swanee. After Garrett Marine merged with Cenac Towing he was the Captain on the Louise Cenac and retired in 2014 after fifty-three years of combined service. He adored his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, they meant the world to him.
He is survived by his son,Joseph Leroy Vincent, Jr. and his wife, Paulette; daughter, Shantel V. Sonnier and her husband, Todd; ten grandchildren, Kirstyn Stelly (Josh), Paige Vincent (Drey), Bailey Sonnier, Casey Sonnier (Hailey), Shanna Sonnier, Katelyn Bishop (Brian), Adam Vincent, Melanie, Allison, and Brennen; six great grandchildren, Ajaya, Gabriel, Ella-Rose, Ava Grace, Harper, Abel, and Nolan; and three sisters, Marie Miller, Thelma Romero (Dennis), and sister, Sundee Perry (Randy).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clovis Vincent and the former Doll Suire; sisters, Betty Ann Vincent, Betty Jane Broussard, and Laura Hargrave; brothers-in-law, Cleveland Hargrave and Joe Miller; and nephew, Troy Romero.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to The Calcutta House for their support and kindness.
