Linwood James Toups

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August  20, 2024, at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Linwood James Toups, 88, who died Friday, August 16, 2024 at Abbeville General Hospital.  He will be laid to rest at Bancker Cemetery with Deacon William Vincent officiating the services.  Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Brodie Meaux, Aden Meaux, Robert Palombo, Donald Bricker, III, John LeMaire and Bryan Matthews.

Linwood was an honest man who sacrificed all for his family. He was an avid outdoorsman who spent a lot of his earlier years hunting with his grandson. He was an employee of Diamond Crystal Salt Mine for over 25 years. He always greeted everyone with a smile and a cheerful heart. He was the definition of hard work, pride and integrity, who proudly raised two daughters and his grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtis LeMaire Toups; grandson, Brodie Meaux (Vicki); great-grandson, Aden Meaux; sons-in- law, Robert Palombo and Donald Bricker III; step-son, John LeMaire; and stepdaughter, Dorthea Matthews (Bryan).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Toups and Leona Frederick; and daughters, Peggy Palombo and Michele Toups.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 9:00 AM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM.
