Lola Bertrand Gaspard

Abbeville—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Lola Bertrand Gaspard, 82, who died Monday, August 8, 2022 at Vermilion Health Care Center. She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Louis J. Richard officiating the services.  Pallbearers will be Eric Gaspard, Dylan Gaspard, Kevin Lemaire, Greg Menard, Everette Broussard and Mitchell Laperouse. Honorary pallbearers will be Drew Gaspard and Cullen Gaspard.

Lola enjoyed cooking, being hospitable to all, making sure everyone felt welcome, and well fed, in her home.  In addition to babysitting her grandchildren, her life revolved around spending time with her family/friends. Her hobbies included playing bourrée, with her family.

She is survived by her son, Eric Gaspard; four grandchildren, Dylan Gaspard, Drew Gaspard, Cullen Gaspard and Carlee Gaspard; daughter-in-law, Cartnee Duplechain Gaspard; and sisters, Irene LeMaire and Gloria Dominque.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Pim" Flemon Gaspard; son, Cedric Gaspard; parents, Aubrey Bertrand and the former Edmay Roche'; brother, Dallas Bertrand; and sisters, Eula Dronet, Wilda Menard, Mary Trahan and Marylin Broussard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 9:00 AM until 1:45 PM when the procession will depart for the church. A rosary being prayed at 10:30 AM.
