Henry—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, May 29, 2023 at St. John Catholic Church honoring the life of Lonnie James DuBois, 71, who passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. He will be laid to rest at Bancker Cemetery with Reverend Louis J. Richard officiating the services.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Joshua DuBois, Daniel DuBois, Paul Broussard, Gavin Broussard, Jesse Prospero, and Michael Rowell.
Lonnie was a 1970 Graduate of Henry High School. After graduation he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
Lonnie worked in the Oilfield before pursuing his passion of shrimping. Catching shrimp and refurbishing boats was a science and art for Lonnie.
Lonnie loved his work but above all he loved his family and friends fiercely. Mentoring, teaching, helping and doing for others made him happiest of all.
His legacy and love will live on through his wife of 37 years, Teresa S. DuBois; his children, Ronnie J. DuBois (Tabitha), Ja'Net DuBois Broussard (Paul), and Danielle DuBois Prospero (Jesse); his siblings, Ginger Rowell (Larry), David DuBois, Mary Vincent (Joseph) and Roger DuBois (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Ryan DuBois, Nick DuBois, Gage DuBois, McKenzie DuBois, Hope DuBois, R.J. DuBois, Melanie Broussard, and Gavin Broussard; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Romain Mallie DuBois and Eula Mae Richard DuBois; and his granddaughter, Taylor Michelle Broussard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Sunday, May 28, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:30 PM; Monday, May 29, 2023 from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM.
