Lorgie Joseph Peltier

ABBEVILLE- A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, October 4, 2024, at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville honoring the life of Lorgie Joseph Peltier, 93, who passed away on October 2, 2024, at Maison du Monde.  Rev. Nicholas Duprẻ will officiate at the funeral service.  Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Glenn LeBlanc, Jeremy Peltier, Christopher Peltier, Michael Taylor, Lurcy Bourque, and Avery Boling. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jace Peltier.

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, 209 S. Saint Charles St., Abbeville, on Thursday, October  3, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue Friday, October 04, 2024, at 8:00 AM until time of services.  A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2024, by Deacon William Vincent.

Lorgie was born on July 18, 1931, in Erath, he worked all his life in the oilfields and worked his way to a Tool Pusher on a Land Rig. Lorgie loved to hunt ducks, fishing and trawling for shrimp, what he enjoyed very much was talking about politics on any level local state and federal. He never met a stranger and referred to many as “Podnah.”

He is survived by his two sons, Chris Peltier (Paulette); and Bradley Peltier (Tina); twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and brother, Ulysse Peltier (Joyce).

He is preceded in death by his spouse, May Adams Peltier; father, Whitney Peltier; mother, Cecile Dubois Peltier; four daughters, Jeanette Peltier, Janelle Peltier, Sarah Peltier Mire, and Janice Peltier Taylor; two grandchildren, Benji Cormier and Brittany Cormier; and sisters, Avia Doucet, Beatrice Peltier, Irene Schexnayder, Florine Rush, and Genevive Mergist.
