Lucille "Tuffy" Benoit

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan honoring the life of Lucille Benoit, 74, who died Thursday, June 13, 2019 at her residence. Reverend Corey Campeaux will be officiating the services.

Lucille was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She always had a smile on her face, a listening ear, and words of encouragement or a joke to brighten the day. “Tuffy” was a strong, kind woman and made a difference in many lives.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ovey Benoit of Gueydan; her two daughters, Leslie and her husband, Eli Girard of Gueydan and Rhonda and her husband, Kelly Hebert of Gueydan; two stepsons, Renny and Chad Benoit; two sisters, Jerry Abshire of Kaplan and Charlotte Mayer of Gueydan; 14 grandchildren, Shantay Harrington, Sarah, Baili, and Taytile Thibodeaux, Kristian Hebert, Chris, Nick and Dillon Courvillion, Angel, Jeremy, Meagan, Miles, Ivy, and Katlyn Benoit; and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Travis Benoit; her mother, Eldie Broussard; and two brothers, Bruce and Larry Broussard.

Philippians 4:6 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth St., on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 5:00 PM; Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 8:00 AM until the services at 10:00 AM.
