Lucy Mae Trahan Landry, age 87, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 19, 1937, in Kaplan, LA, Lucy lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to her family and her passions.
Lucy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She found joy in cooking and baking delicious meals that brought her family together. Her love for gardening filled her days with beauty and her home with countless flowers and fresh vegetables. Lucy's spirit shined brightly through her love of music, singing, and dancing, creating countless cherished memories with her family. She was also a member of the Ladies Alter Society. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty she loved so much.
A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend Buddy Breaux will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 7, 2025 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jude Delcambre, Brody Landry, Cade Landry, Ethan Hardy, Collin Delcambre, Lennie Toucheck, and Jake Dever.
The visitation will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home in Delcambre on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 1:45 PM when the procession departs for the church. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Floyd Joseph Landry, Sr. of New Iberia; her four children, Lucinda L. Delcambre and her husband, Jimmy of Delcambre, Glenry Landry and companion, Darlene of Delcambre, Floyd J. Landry, Jr. and his wife, Liz of New Iberia, and Linda L. Duhon and her husband, David of Delcambre; grandchildren, Jude Delcambre and his wife, Marie, Cristal Lombas and her husband, Scott, Magen Landry, Ron Landry and his wife, Brandy, Brody Landry and companion Rachel Stelly, Cade Landry, Kayla Toucheck and her husband, Lennie, Ethan Hardy and his husband, BJ Delahoussaye, and Jade Dever and her husband, Jake; great grandchildren, Madison, Collin, Alyex, Rylie, Brooklyn, Chace, Jax, Dray, Rykur, Judd, John Floyd, and Jules; great-great grandchildren, Brayson, and Bryker; and siblings, Erna Gaspard, Obray Trahan, Jr., and Vanessa Choate.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Obray Trahan, Sr. and the former Edia Roche; and infant brother, Dennis Trahan.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Amedisys Hospice, especially her nurses, Theresa and Alicia and the entire team for their compassionate care. A very special thank you to her caregiver, Belinda “Mrs. B.” for her tentative care continuous support and dedication in Lucy’s final days.
