Mae Grace Mouton

KAPLAN – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Mae Grace Mouton, 81, who died Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home. She will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Myles Stelly, Brent Cormier, Matthew Greene, Timothy Guidry, Joey Mouton and Dale Stelly. Honorary pallbearers will be Carson Cormier, Owen Cormier, Ace Greene and Allen Stelly.

Mrs. Mouton was a member of The Lions Club and The Holy Rosary Parish Council Committee. She was a catechism instructor at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, as well as a Eucharistic minister, serving the sick and homebound of the parish. Mrs. Mouton hosted home retreats, and was an intricate part in the start of the Come Lord Jesus, and Christians Who Care programs.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Loifey Mouton; one son, Joey E. Mouton and his friend, Timothy Guidry of Lafayette; two daughters, Karen Moore and her husband, James of Kaplan, and Gwen Greene and her husband, Lovelace of Kaplan; one brother, Allen Stelly and his wife, Claudette of Cecilia; two grandchildren, Brent Cormier and his wife, Jessica of Maurice, and Matthew Greene and his wife, Jena of Lafayette; four great grandchildren, Carson Cormier, Owen Cormier and Evelyn Cormier of Maurice, and Ace Greene of Lafayette; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elier Stelly and Regina Mire Stelly.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 600 N. Church Avenue, on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the time of the services at 2:00 PM. A rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM lead by Mrs. Mary Faye Hardy.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Gueydan Memorial Guest Home and Lamm Hospice for the compassionate and amazing care they provided for Mrs. Mouton and her family. May those that had a hand in Mrs. Mae Grace's care be forever blessed.
