Mae Rose Mire

Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 12, 2024 at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church honoring the life of Mae Rose Mire, 97, who died Monday, April 8, 2024 at Kaplan Healthcare Center. She will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery with Reverend Stephen Sahayaraj Irudayasamy officiating the services.

She is survived by her four sons, Harold Mire and his wife, Mona of Abbeville, Kenneth Mire and his wife, Kathleen of Kaplan, Reves Mire and his wife, Cheri of Abbeville and Robert Mire and his wife, Patricia of Kaplan; one daughter, Elaine M. Lopez (Carroll) of Kaplan; 16 grandchildren, Jason Mire, Keith Mire, Nikki Moore (Shawn), Karen Mire, Kelly Schexnaider (Adam), Katie Westbrook (Gary), Courtney Wolf (William), Chelsea Celestino (Fernando), Shawn Mire (Sarah), Ryan Mire (Bailey), Corey Lopez (Crescent), Casey Lopez (Samantha), Cale Lopez (Brandy), Duff Renard (Traci), Chad Renard (Laura) and Eric Renard; 23 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Bob” Mire; one daughter, Audrey Renard; two grandchildren, Cody Mire and Brandon Renard; one sister, Inez Guidry; and her parents, Leodias Mire and the former Eluse Broussard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Friday, April 12, 2024 from 8:00 AM until the procession departs for the church at 10:45 AM.
