Kaplan - With heavy hearts, but lifted spirits, we announce the passing of Mamie Louise Prudhomme, who left us peacefully on January 8, 2025, at the age of 88, at Pointe Coupee General Hospital, New Roads Louisiana.
Born on July 26, 1936, and raised in Kaplan Louisiana, her lifelong home, where she was a dedicated mother to her children, and wife to her husband. Mamie embraced Christianity and was a constant prayer warrior for Christ. She enjoyed cooking and feeding any and every one, often helping with babysitting, and other community service programs.
The visitation will take place on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 8:00AM to 10:00AM, and continue with funeral service at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery. She is survived by her sons Peter Williams, Lionel Prudhomme Sr., and Brian Prudhomme, sister Marion Smith, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
MAMA LOU FAMILY CHRONICLE
Mama Lou family tree stretched broad and wide through the years covering over four generations. However, time has broken many branches along the way with death, but the Lord has replaced the fallen branches with the birth of new babies and new family members.

Mama Lou immediate family tree members that preceded her in death was her father, Paul Johnnie, mother Mamie Mouton Johnnie, brothers, Moses Johnnie Sr., Warren Johnnie Sr., David Johnnie, and sister Mary Mae Hardy. One surviving immediate family member, youngest sister Marion Smith.
GENERATION II
Mama Lou personal immediate family tree branches that preceded her in death, was her first husband, Frank Williams, her second and last husband, Hammie Prudhomme, and son Brent Prudhomme. Three surviving sons, Peter Williams, Lionel Prudhomme Sr. and Brian Prudhomme.
GENERATION III
Mama Lou grandchildren tree branches of life include, Kenneth Rudd, Pederien Hopkins, Cornelius Williams, Nathanael Williams, Alanna Williams (Simon), Jasper Williams (Hilliard), Briana Prudhomme (Perry), Layla Prudhomme, Lionel Prudhomme Jr. and Lauren Prudhomme. (Branches listed by age group, and not love level)
GENERATION IV
Mama Lou extended family tree branches included the husbands and wives of generation (III) grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and generation (I) children and grandchildren, along with all nieces, nephews, and their grandchildren.
