Marcelius Cormier

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March  9, 2021 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Marcelius Cormier, 90, who died Saturday, March 6, 2021 at his residence.  He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery with Reverend Matthew Hebert officiating the services.

He is survived by two sons, Carl Patrick Cormier of Abbeville and Robert Brent Cormier and his wife, Brenda of Kaplan; four daughters, Shirley O'Bryan and her husband, Patrick of Esther, Callie Cormier Abshire of Kaplan, Norma Theall and her husband, Danny of Kaplan and Theresa Cormier and her husband, Preston of Kaplan; one sister, Beatrice Benoit of Kaplan; one brother, Elzie "Red" Cormier of Lake Charles; 13 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren with one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Velma Cormier; second wife, Flo Frantez; third wife, Joyce Connors; one son, Marcelius Cormier, Jr.; his parents, Alcide Joseph Cormier and the former Olita Abshire; one grandson, Jed Abshire; two great granddaughters, twins Hailey and Bailey Vigneaux; three sons-in-law, Russell Abshire, Ronnie Hebert and Glenn Lange; two sisters, Elizabeth Broussard and Leonie Turner; and two brothers, Ursin Cormier and Antoine Cormier.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Monday, March  8, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Tuesday, March  9, 2021 from 8:00 AM until the services at 2:00 PM.
