Marie Sousette Dyson

September 14, 1935 — May 31, 2019

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Marie Sousette Miller Dyson, 83, who died Friday, May 31, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She will be laid to rest at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Cameron, LA with Deacon William "Billy" Vincent officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Craig Green, Shaun Green, Travis Munsell, Jon Sherman, Randy Murphy and Wilbert LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearer will be Austin Green.


Mrs. Dyson was born September 14, 1935 in Creole, Louisiana. She attended Our Lady Star of the Sea in Cameron until moving to Delcambre where she attended Our Lady of the Lake. In her earlier years she worked at Mans Cafe, South Cameron Memorial Hospital, Gulf Motel and Cameron Elementary.


Mrs. Dyson loved working in her garden and flower beds. She enjoyed watching wrestling and working in puzzle books.
Those left to cherish her loving memory are her daughters, Caroline Rodriguez (Wilbert), and Connie Munsell (Travis) all of Delcambre; three grandchildren, Shaun Green, Craig Green (Niki) of Delcambre, and Christina Sherman (Jon) of Pascagoula, MS; nine great grandchildren, Alainah Green of Hurley, MS, Shaunna Green, Hailey Green, Austin Green, Annabelle Green of Delcambre, Randy Murphy, Ashley Murphy, Halie Sherman, and Sage Sherman of Pascagoula, MS; three great-great grandchildren, Sutter Murphy, Brynn Cole, and Ainsley Murphy all of Pascagoula, MS; one sister, Mary Guidry (Daniel) of Hayes, MS; brother, Joseph Miller (Elena) of Lake Charles; and numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Dyson; parents, Philbert and Natalie Duhon Miller; brothers, Paul Wesley Miller and Wilford "T Joe" Miller; sisters, Dorothy LeBouef, Evelyn Godfrey and an infant sister.


The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 9:00 AM until time of services.
