Mom was an avid cook, with an open kitchen for family and visitors. She and Dad loved to garden, growing and sharing all the vegetables, watermelons and cantaloupes they were able to. Growing up as children, she would sew as much of our clothing as she could. Crocheting blankets and outerwear for her children and grandchildren for as long as she was able. With an avid sense of humor which will be missed.

She is survived by son, Damian Ray DeMarcy; four daughters Cynthia M. DeMarcy, Barbara D. Ewing, Cheryl D. Guidry (Larry), and Raelene D. Cox; one brother, Adam Broussard (Marlene); twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband of fifty six years, Ray Allen DeMarcy; parents Hiram and Nolia Huval Broussard; sister, Elaine B. Sagrera; and three brothers, Hiram, Jr, Tibby, and John Broussard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 9:00 AM until time of service, with a rosary being prayed at 12:30 PM.
