Marlene A. Abshire

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Marlene A. Abshire, 66, who died Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at her residence.  She will be laid to rest at Greene Cemetery with Reverend Farley Painter officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Lonnie Girouard, Shane Guidry, Blake Martin, Jade Rung, Gerald Martin, and Shane Roche.

She is survived by her fiancé of six years, Roger Toups of Kaplan; her son, John Bernard and Heidie Stelly of Kaplan; her granddaughter, Shawn Jase Bernard of Cameron, TX; her two sisters, Mary Hazel of Georgia and Janelle and Slim of Kaplan; and her two brothers, Paul Wilton Abshire, Jr. and Roger and Judy Abshire. She will be missed by many relatives and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilton Paul "Thib" Abshire and the former Enix Marie Leger;  and her son, Shawn Michael Abshire, Jr. and  her brother, David Abshire.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 9:00 AM until the time of the services at 1:00 PM.
