Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Martin Douglas Trahan, 92, who died Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Eastridge Nursing Center. He will be laid to rest at Petry Cemetery with Deacon William "Billy" Vincent officiating the services.
Martin was very proud to have served his country during the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Army. He was retired from Ironworkers Local #623. He later went to work with the electrical department for the City of Abbeville. He was the owner/operator of Trahan’s Day Lily Garden in Abbeville.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lily Joyce Trahan; three sons, Randall Trahan of Meaux, Darrell Trahan and his wife, Christine of Kaplan, and Bradley Trahan of Abbeville; step-son, Glenn LeBlanc and his wife, Vicki of Abbeville; one daughter, Laura Hext of DeRidder; two step-daughters, Diana East and her husband, Murphy of Kaplan, and Jeanell LeBlanc of Lafayette; fifteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and sister, Louise Leleux of Crowley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam Trahan and the former, Agnes Faulk; sister, Rita Borel; brother, Lovelace Joseph Trahan; two step-daughters, Sandra LeBlanc and Noella Hebert; and step-granddaughter, Nicole LeBlanc.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 9:00 AM until time of services.
