Mary Potier Broussard

Gueydan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Mary Potier Broussard, 100, who died Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home. She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Corey Campeaux officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Smith, Ian LeBlanc, Ryan Smith, Patrick LeBlanc, Noah LeBlanc, and Buddy Duncan. Troy Smith will be the honorary pallbearer.

She is survived by her son, Raymond Smith and his wife, Melinda of Midland; her daughter, Judy LeBlanc and her husband, Tim of Gueydan; 13 grandchildren, Mark Smith, Vicky Myers, Troy Smith, Connie Rose, Stacey Armond, Tiffany Benoit, Ryan Smith, Denine Poolle, Dena Willis, Buddy Duncan, Ian LeBlanc, Noah LeBlanc, and Patrick LeBlanc; 19 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Broussard; her daughter, Loretta Duncan; and her parents, Nicholas Potier and the former Cecile Perry.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth St., on Monday, May 28, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM; Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 9:00 AM until the precession departs for the church.
