Maurice Bourque, Jr.

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February  2, 2020 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Maurice Bourque, Jr., 76, who died Friday, January 31, 2020 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Grant Bourque, Eliot Bourque, Josh Scanlan, Chris Scanlan, Ian Frick, and Mason Frick.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Barbara Adams Bourque of Kaplan; his sons, David Bourque of Kaplan and Stephen Bourque and his wife, Alyson of Kaplan;  his daughter, Melanie Scanlan Gaspard and her husband, Donald of Kaplan; his stepsons, Blaine Frick and his wife, Tara of Kaplan and Brent Frick and his wife, Jenni of Lafayette; his brother, Sulie Bourque and his wife, Kathy of Lafayette; his eight grandchildren; his seven step grandchildren; his four great grandchildren; and his two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Simon; his father, Maurice Bourque, Sr.; his mother, Eva Adams Bourque Roam; his stepfather, Daniel Roam; and his sister, Alice Bourque.

The family wishes to thank Abbeville Cancer Center, and Acadian Hospice for all their care and compassion.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Saturday, February  1, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Sunday, February  2, 2020 from 9:00 AM until the time of the services at 2
