Abbeville—A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Melia "Millie" Ann Broussard Brasseaux, 70, who died Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at her residence. Deacon Donald Bernard will officiate the service. She will be laid to rest at Bancker Cemetery at a later date.
She was the wife of entertainer Larry Brasso. After the passing of her husband, she re-entered the bar tending business, working at well known establishments such as Checkmate Lounge, Cheers, the Gaslight Lounges, and was owner of Poppa P’s during the early 90s.
She also enjoyed travel with friends. She spent her retirement years working at Outback Steakhouse and gardening.
Millie is survived by her daughter, Mona Lisa Brasseaux; three grandchildren, Mia Brasseaux, Beau Brasseaux and Caitlyn Irwin; two great grandchildren, Carman Turner and Braxton Paris; nine step great grandchildren; one brother, Paul Broussard, Jr.; and three sisters, Susan Broussard, Peggy Broussard and Cheryl Broussard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Larry "Brasso" Brasseaux; parents, Paul Elredge Broussard and the former Mary Ida Simon; and sister, Donna Broussard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 12:00 PM until time of service.
