Mildred B. Schexnider

Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 31, 2020 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Mildred Broussard Schexnider, 86, who died Friday, August 28, 2020 at Lafayette General Medical Center.  She will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services.

Mildred was a loving mother and grandmother who was also a member of the Ladies Alter Society, Catholic Daughters of America, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus.

She is survived by her two sons, Rainey Schexnider and his wife, Maxine of Lafayette and Allen Schexnider and his wife, Faye of Duson; her three grandsons, Wes Schexnider and his wife, Christy of Kaplan, Dustin Schexnider of Lafayette, and Chris Schexnider and his wife, Meaghan of Kaplan; her three great grandsons, Brant, Gabe and Matt Schexnider; her two brothers, Harry Broussard and his wife, Della of Kaplan, and Whitney Broussard, Jr. of Lafayette; her two sisters, Eljane Neisser of West Lake and Lorraine and her husband, Donald Mire of  Crowley; and her sister-in-law, Mary Broussard of Crowley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, U. J. Schexnider; her parents, Whitney Broussard and the former Nolia Bertrand; her sister, May Rose Broussard; her brother, Leroy Broussard; and her brother-in-law, Clarence Neisser.

The family would like to thank the nurses on the 9 ^th floor central at Lafayette General Medical Center for all their care and compassion.
