A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.  honoring the life of Myerl John Hebert, 78, who died Thursday, September 2, 2021, after a brief illness.

Myerl was born on May 26, 1943 to Eola White and Pershing Hebert in Abbeville, Louisiana.

After graduating from high school, he began what would become his long career of working in the oil field and traveling the world. He achieved becoming an oil and gas icon. He was highly respected around the world as an oil and gas consultant.

He went on to have seven children, Stacey, Kevin, Todd, Joel, Rachelle, Jordan, Alexander; four grandsons; six granddaughters; and three great grandchildren.

After retiring, Myerl continued spending his time with his companion, Lynda Bruno at their home. He spent a lot of time visiting, working, fishing, and hunting at his camp on Mulberry Island. It was his favorite place to be.

He is survived by his sister and brother, Jeannettia Taulli (Peter), and James Hebert; children, Stacey Soule (George), Kevin Hebert (Laurie), Joel Hebert (Kelli), Rachelle Hebert, Jordan Hebert (Jennifer), Alexander Hebert; ten grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Myerl was preceded by his mother, the former Eola White; father, Pershing Hebert; brother, Doyce Hebert; and son, Todd Hebert.

The family requests that gathering hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
