Nella C. Bertrand

Kaplan—Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Kaplan Cemetery honoring the life of Nella C. Bertrand, 92, who died Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Golden Age Nursing Home.  She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Deacon Tom Sommers officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Paul Bertand, Roy Wiersema, William Miller, Shawn Bertrand, Colby Wiersema, Justin Bertrand, and Glynn Bertrand.

She is survived by her two sons, Wayne Bertrand and his wife, Mary of Holden and James L. Bertrand and his wife, Janie of Denham Springs; six grandchildren, Wayne Paul Bertrand, Kerry Bertrand, Glynn Bertrand, Sharon Miller, Spring Gros, and Roy Wiersema; 15 great grandchildren, Shawn, Justin, Emmaleigh, Jacob, Madelyn, Dylan, Hannah, William, Lainey, Colby, Connor, Cooper, Courtney, Joseph, and Lindsie; and one great-great grandchild, Vada Jane.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Paul Bertrand; one daughter, Gloria Nell Ducote; her parents, Joseph  Cormier and the former  Philonize Simon; and two brothers, Floyd Cormier and Purvis  Cormier.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 9:00 AM until the procession departs to the Kaplan Cemetery at 11:30 AM. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM.
