He was a resident of Kaplan, Louisiana, his childhood home which he cherished until the time of his death. Nicholas graduated from New Iberia Senior High School in 1999. He was part of the renowned “Dawg Pound” where he and his friends enthusiastically cheered the NISH basketball team to victory. He attended and received his Bachelor’s degree in General Studies from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2010. He was an avid supporter of the Ragin’ Cajuns. Nick was also a huge fan of the Duke Blue Devils basketball team. He, his mother, and his sister Taylor shared a passion for the Dukies. He found his niche when he went to work for Tiger Safety. There, he was able to use and share his many talents to make the work environment a better and safer place. His eyes would sparkle when he talked about his work. He enjoyed running his crawfish pond, cooking, gardening, alligator hunting, spending time with his family, friends, and cats at “Nick Nation in Clark County,” and discussing “The World According to Nick.”

Welcoming him to his heavenly home are his maternal great-grandparents, Lionel and Hilda Meaux, and Feray and Helen Clark; and his paternal grandfathers, Mervis Fontenot and Dr. James Camel.
