Ozite Hargrave Trahan

ABBEVILLE - Ozite passed away peacefully at Eastridge Nursing Home. She was born in Cow Island, Louisiana, and raised in Indian Bayou, Louisiana. She was the middle and last living child of fifteen siblings. Her main enjoyments in life were Hargrave family reunions, as she adored her beloved siblings, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who had her whole heart. She enjoyed cooking for everyone, camping, and absolutely loved dancing.

She is survived by her son Joe Trahan, (Chris), daughter Marian Trahan Boudreaux (Sam), grandsons Brant Jacob Trahan (Jessica), Byron Jarod Boudreaux (Brooke), granddaughters Virginia Robinson (Mike), and Annie Carmichael, great-grandchildren Liam Robinson, Lila Robinson, Arran Carmichael, Adysen Boudreaux, Alexis Boudreaux, Sloane Trahan, Weston Trahan and Vernis P. Trahan, the father of her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Remy Hargrave and Alphonsine Feverjean Hargrave, her nine brothers; Leon Hargrave, Joseph Clifton Hargrave, Eugene Hargrave, Odilon Hargrave, Weston Hargrave, Raymond Hargrave, Joseph Hargrave, Remy Hargrave, and one unknown sibling who died at an early age, her five sisters; Eugenia Ryder, Mavis Fishback, Patsy Stansbury, Mary Lee Coulter, Gloria Faye Touchet.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Eastridge Nursing Home for their incomparable care and compassion.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Vincent Funeral Home 209 S St. Charles St. Abbeville, La 70510, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
