Paul Bertrand, Jr.

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring he life of Paul Bertrand Jr., 85, who died Thursday, September 16, 2021 at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice.  He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon William "Billy" Vincent officiating the services.  Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Brad Bertrand, Wayne Bertrand, Barry Bertrand, Beau Bertrand, Joshua Hebert, Nathan Broussard, Michael Bertrand Jr, Jared Bertrand, Andrew Bertrand.  Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Bertrand.

Paul Bertrand was born May 8, 1936, a native of Meaux Louisiana.  Paul was “Papa” to his grandchildren. Paul worked over 30 years in the Oil Field Industry and retired with Chevron USA at 57. Paul’s passion was watching all kinds of sports especially football, he loved to Cajun dance and gamble at the casinos.

Paul is survived by his sister, Shirley Broussard; six children, Barry Bertrand and his wife, Mary of Meaux, Kimberly Bertrand of Meaux, Michael Bertrand of Alabama, Wayne Bertrand and his wife, Melissa of Meaux, Paulette Bella of Kentucky, and Brad Bertrand and his wife, Shelina of Alabama; life and dance partner, Annie Derouen; eighteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Broussard and her husband, Norman of Abbeville.

He was preceded in death by by his parents Paul Bertrand Sr. and Mable Lege Bertrand; wife, Judith Vale Bertrand; brother, Robert Bertrand; and sister, Mae Grace Baudoin.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 9:00 AM until time of services.  A rosary being prayed by family at 12:15 PM.
