Born June 2, 1941 to Edmund and Lezima “BB” Bertrand went to be with the Lord on July 27, 2020. She was a very outgoing woman that cared for everyone that needed and more.  She was known to many as Mom, but also as Nanny, Granny, Taunt, Nan, and many others. She would take you into her home in a heartbeat.  She never met a stranger and loved everyone the same.

She always made sure Lola was taken care of before anyone else.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Evans “TT” Mhire; her second husband, Joseph Weston Matthew; her parents, Edmund Bertrand and the former Lezima Conner; her siblings, Mamie Richard, and Mable Miller; two nephews; and one grandson.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 5035 Grand Chenier Highway, on Friday, July 31, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A private family viewing will be held from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM. A rosary will be prayed at 11:30 AM and the Mass will immediately follow.
