Randy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who soared through life as an Ag pilot for an impressive 48 years. His passion for flying was not just a career but a lifelong love affair with the skies. Despite the countless hours spent in the cockpit, he never worked a day in his life because he found joy and purpose in the boundless blue above.
Beyond the clouds, Randy was an avid tinkerer, finding solace and satisfaction in his workshop. His hands crafted more than just machines; they wove the threads of a legacy that will endure through generations. Riding his trusty John Deere Gator, he patrolled the land, checking on his cattle with a deep-rooted connection to the earth.
Family was Randy’s true treasure, and his love for them knew no bounds. His grandchildren were the stars that lit up his world, and every moment spent together was a cherished memory. In the tapestry of his life, the threads of family, aviation, and craftsmanship were tightly woven, creating a rich and vibrant story that will be remembered with warmth and gratitude.
As we bid farewell to this remarkable soul, let us celebrate the legacy of a man who lived his dreams, loved unconditionally, and left a lasting imprint on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his spirit continue to soar in the skies and guide us with the gentle whispers of cherished memories.
Randy is survived by his wife of 21 years, Nora A. Broussard; one son, Stacy Broussard and his wife, Brandy of Gueydan; one step-son, Stacy Thibodeaux and his wife, Danielle of Breaux Bridge; one daughter, Renee Arceneaux and her husband, Jack of Maurice; one step-daughter, Heather Reese and her husband, Blake of Abbeville; one brother, Saul Broussard and his wife, Liz of Gueydan; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Broussard and the former Delores Cormier; his daughter, Tiffany Broussard; and his brother, Dane Broussard.
Randy’s family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Calcutta House and staff in Lafayette for giving him such comforting care. They are also profoundly thankful for Dr. Daniel Lavie, and the oncology nurses at Baton Rouge General and at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Baton Rouge for their kindness, empathy, and professionalism.
