Ricky Jones Trahan

Abbeville—Ricky Jones Trahan, 66, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital following a long battle with heart and kidney disease.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Louis J. Richard officiating the services.

Prior to his retirement, he worked for over 30 years for Exxon-Mobil. He was a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and Alter Server at St. Theresa Catholic Church. He made his Cursillo in 2011. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He looked forward to his monthly lunch gathering with schoolmates.

He is survived by high school sweetheart and wife of 46 years, Kathleen Broussard Trahan; his four children, Joshua Trahan and his wife, Kristy Taylor Trahan, Amy Trahan, Ashley Trahan and Kody Esponge; his seven grandchildren, Stephan Guidry, Jordan Jackson, Dominique Jackson, Cameron Jackson, Jack Trahan, and Emma Trahan; his sister, Maxine Trahan Duhon and her husband, Bradley Duhon; his sisters-in-law, Sheryl Dutton Broussard, Marlene Broussard Guin, Trudy B. Broussard, and Jody Hurd Broussard.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Herman and Una Ann Trahan; his brothers-in-law, Pearly Broussard, Randall Broussard, and Bill Broussard; and sister-in-law, Geraldine Patin Broussard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 9:00 AM until 12:45 PM when the procession will depart for the church. A rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM by the Abbeville/Erath Ultreya.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, especially Dr. Dana Dicharry, Dr. Eric Thomassee, and Dr. Michael Lui for the compassionate care given to Ricky.
