Robert "Bobby" Lege

Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Robert “Bobby” Lege, 70, who died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Christus St. Patrick Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be J.J. Landry, Raywood “Bert” Bertrand, Burt Hoffpauir, Mike Devall, Jacob Conner, and Steve Perry.

Mr. Lege spent nearly 20 years in law enforcement, with the last 4 serving as chief of police in Kaplan, prior to retirement. He enjoyed watching movies, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He loved watching his grandchildren playing sports.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Veronica "Ronnie" Lege of Kaplan; his daughter, Monica Lege Bass and her husband Scott of Kaplan; his sister, Shelva Dean Mouton of Ridge; his foster sister, Joyce T. Gaspard of Kaplan; his nanny, Marie "Aunt Mae" Fritth of Kaplan; and his four grandchildren, Dayne, Claire, Brayden, and Britt Bass.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas Joseph Lege and the former Audrey Herpin.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 9:00 AM until the procession departs for the church.
