Rose Marie Williams

November 12, 1945 — July 9, 2020

Gueydan— Rose Marie Williams was born November 12, 1945 to the late Earnest and Genevieve Lewis. She was a resident of Gueydan, LA at the time of her death where she was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Her family and friends enjoyed watching her beautiful smile and her gentle, loving spirit.

She always valued moments when family would gather and she adored talking on the phone with her friends and her grandchildren. She was a joy and a blessing to all who encountered her presence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church.  She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Corey Campeaux officiating the services.

She has departed this earth on Thursday, July 9, 2020 and has left to celebrate her new life her son, Andrew (Pancita) Williams; her stepmother, Mrs. Ernest (Dorothy) Lewis; her brothers, Earnest (Gayle) Lewis, Simon (Annette) Lewis, Antoine Lewis, Adam (Rosie) Lewis, and Richard McDowell; her sisters, Bella Lewis, Princess McDowell, Patricia Soloman, Stephanie Coleman, and Phoebe Cormier; her grandchildren, Alexandra Brown, Andrew Brown, Hasanni Williams, Justice Williams, Lloyd Williams, Anika Williams, and Bianca Williams; her great grandchildren, Harmonie Williams, Serenity Williams, Loyaltee Williams, Danielle Torrey, Darius Malik Brown, Jr., Aylah Brown, Allinah Brown, and Leilani Brown; and her sisters-in-law, Ms. Edolia (Floyd) Williams, Mrs. Mary Lee (Thomas) Williams. She was blessed to have a host of nieces, all in which she adored; great nieces; nephews; cousins and many other loving friends which she cared for dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Williams, Jr.; her father, Ernest Lewis; her mother, Genevieve Lewis; her sisters, Genevieve Lewis and Mary Demouchet; her brothers, Johnny Lewis, Ronnie McDowell, and Howard McDowell; and her son, Lloyd Williams III; and her grandson, Darius Malik Brown.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth St., on Thursday, July 16, 2020 from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM when the procession departs for the church.
